Types of Plant Tissues
Professor Dave Explains・2 minutes read
Living organisms have cells that organize into tissues and then into organs, with plants having three main tissue types: ground, dermal, and vascular. Ground tissue includes parenchyma, dermal tissue forms the plant's protective epidermis, and vascular tissue, unique to vascular plants, transports water and nutrients through xylem and phloem.
Insights
- Ground tissue, dermal tissue, and vascular tissue are the three main types of tissues found in plants, each serving distinct functions in the plant's structure and physiology.
- Xylem and phloem, components of vascular tissue, play vital roles in the transport of water, minerals, and sugars throughout the plant, highlighting the essential nature of vascular tissue in plant growth and development.
